Yesterday myself and Cam along with Bernie and Shane completed ‘Day 1’ of 2 for our company assessment and recognition of our European qualifications. Day one was namely re-issuing our ‘Low Visibility’ qualification on the A330, and a warm up for tomorrow’s Operational Proficiency Check (OPC). Day 1 was our first look at the ‘Airbus Approved’ simulator and training centre operated by Air Asia X. To describe the place as ‘less than impressive’ is an understatement, with most of us finding it depressing. We thanked our lucky stars that we did not do our endorsement in Malaysia as some of the guys at Virgin Australia did.
