"Experts predict [slow cookers] will be a big trend in 2008," the articles notes. Grocery stores have picked up on the trend and sell pre-cut veggies and meat for slow cookers. Book stores have dozens of books devoted to slow cooker chili.Whether beans belong in a great chilli was always subject to discussion for most chilli aficionados. It is likely that some chili cooks once started adding beans to supplement or even replace expensive meat. Understandable as the beans contribute taste, valuable proteins and nutrients to the chili.Having a few basic recipes on hand is great. Unfortunately, the same recipes can get old. A cookbook that offers a large selection of recipes is essential for college students. Look for books that have breakfast, side dish, dessert, main course, snack, and several other categories.
