Papeete (Tahiti) is a humming little town with a great fresh fruit market and lots of supermarkets to choose from. The prices are much higher here compared to the Caribbean or even Panama for pretty much everything, however they are actually on a par with prices in Aus. Tahiti is a tourist hub and it is strange to see large groups of Japanese tourists in the shops.

I finally managed to get my hands on the illusive replacement inverter on Monday. I had to walk some 5km to the post office in the middle of the freight depot and amazingly the box was sitting right behind the first person I spoke too.
