Found out yesterday that I only purchased travel insurance and not rental car excess! Ouch, means we are up for excess of $2500 + tax. Talking to the girl at Budget she suggested that we contact Amex cos she believes we could be covered under that. Checked the website and all indications were that we will be covered. So off to Westpac Mt.Eliza to check things out, park rental car #2 in Mt.Eliza, walk 50 Mtrs and there is rental car #1.  What the!!!  Car is in perfect condition, oysters still in front seat, crownies still in the boot and all paperwork including satnav where they were left? The car was 10 stops from where Sue parked it. So after a miriad of calls to the cops and budget we now have 2 hire cars and a bit of relief and a lot of laughs.
