Wellington Hi All Didn't get to do the skydive in Taupo due to the bad weather - so we're aiming to do it in Queenstown instead. Left Taupo to go to Palmerston North - the guide book said that John Cleese has a famous saying about Palmy North - if you ever think about killing yourself, go there and that will finish you off. They named a tip after him, so that basically appealed to us and we went there... It's a small town, not much going on, but we went out Friday night and had a few drinks. The holiday park we stayed in was a bit grim so we had to get out! Drove to Wellington, via Woodville, on Saturday and met up with a distant relative of Nat's for lunch. Arrived Wellington in time to get ready and hit the capital for a boozy night, the holiday park is 30 mins from city centre so we had to use the bus to get there, but nightlife was good - we had a few beers, cocktails and ate at a nice wine bar, Nat got pretty merry - she was all over me at the bus stop waiting to go home!! Weather has been better here (typical) - sunny all day today, we've been back into the centre and we've been on the cable car, upto the Botanical gardens and then to the Te Pape museum (all of those free apart from cable car - we had to scrape some money back somewhere!) but had a really good day. We're getting ready for the ferry to Picton tomorrow morning, and we're driving then to Kaikoura, where we're hoping to do a night sky tour of the planets (obviously weather permitting) and doing a whale watching tour the morning after. Life in the camper is good so far, its nice and warm at night and we had it rocking yesterday (the sound system is amazing...) before we went out at night. We're eating ok, but no vegies (too much trouble) and no fruit (chocolate is better for a snack) but at least we're doing ok gym wise. We've been 3 times this week - mainly because the weather has been crap and there is only so much you can do in a camper..... Hope everything is ok back home and you guys aren't working too hard (what is that anyway??). Nat and Chappers xxx
