Denver to Las Vegas The wind really picked up overnight and we got out of town ahead of the snow. We really have been having a dream run with the weather. Returned the rental car to Fox at the Airport by ignoring the airport signs and obeying the GPS and more importantly my passenger's instructions. SWMBO triumphed again. SouthWest airlines were very good - they don't allocate seats but the boarding time is dependant on paying a $10 early boarding fee, and order of those peopledepends on how early you check-in? Anyhow we bagged the front 2 seats on the plane with a window for the photographer. Rather thick cloud over the Rocky mountains - but it cleared up to a cloudless sky over Lake Powell and Las Vegas, of course - the good weather travelers had arrived. Las Vegas is packed and the place is as crazy as usual. We like the very cheap hotel rooms and (usually) cheap food as well. But hate the fact that the place must be the last holdout for the smokers - cigars as well as cigarettes........ Didn't help Betty's asthma at all..... Went up the 'Eiffel Tower' or at least the 1/2 scale model (Still pretty high) which is next door to our Ballys hotel. Rode the monorail from end to end, watched the great water show at the huge hotel across the road from us. Will have a full day and evening tonight, so more later..
