Day 31 I’ll save the bad news until later! Woke up this morning to a lovely sunny day ….and NO WIND!! Hooray. Set off to go and have a look at Gordes – another of these hill top villages. Stopped at a large stopover site a couple of miles outside the village and scootered in. It was market day – but very much a tourist market – with prices to match! Lovely little village though and had a good time wandering round the alleyways and narrow streets, and enjoying the fantastic panoramic views and soaking up the sun. Also scootered to a nearby “borrie” village – a small settlement of really interesting dry-stone houses & barns – now a museum. Set off to go to a place a few miles away to do another walk from our book, in the Luberon hills. But – this is where the bad news starts – the brakes started playing up again. Headed very gingerly to the nearest stopover – which happened to be a site in the car park of a supermarket at Puyvert. We’re parked between the launderette & the car wash. But handy for the shopping! Going to have to call the breakdown service first thing tomorrow as I really don’t think the van is fit to drive much further and it’s 25 miles to the nearest Ford garage. Not quite sure what tomorrow will bring……….
