West Coast Story
8th Jun 2012 - 11th Jun 2012 - Australia for the Birthdays...
Birthday Month - or so it seems

Finally back in Sydney after quite a good flight from Los Angeles in the Airbus Premium Economy. Not sure I would exactly recommend it as the seats are not all that comfortable, but the food and service was good and I was fortunate to be sitting in the bulkhead with 3 empty seats around me - so I was able to spread out quite comfortably. Interestingly, missed my birthday totally as I left the US on the 5th, and arrived on the 7th - so the 6th was lost somewhere 30,000 feet above the Pacific, I guess. I think this qualifies me to be able to wait until the next 6th June to advance my numbers - what do you think? A beautiful bunch of gorgeous flowers greeted me on my bed when I arrived home - a lovely welcome return. The weather has been shocking since I arrived - the rain has just been teeming down without respite and it is becoming quite wearing. It is especially stressful as I am trying to make plans for Jen's Big Brithday Bash next weekend and am having to think about rain contingency - I was prepared to plan for bad weather, but not in these Biblical proportions! THursday night, Jen and Chris took me out to dinner at the new High St Bistro in Willoughby - gorgeous pork belly - then the Main Event on Friday was Jen's Birthday dinner at the Four in Hand in Paddington together with Chris' girlfriend Erin. Jen arrived loaded up with gorgeous flowers from her work and she shared a fantastic roast shoulder of lamb with Chris - melt-in-your-mouth with the meat literally falling off the bone - the meal was a lovely start to the Birthday celebrations, which it seems will be going on for the whole month!! The rest of the weekend, we have been moping about the place - feeling cold, wet and it all seems like we are in limbo - plenty to do to prepare for the party next week, but the weather is preventing most of the outdoor preps and also it is so miserable, no one wants to venture out in to the rain and cold. Have my lovely fire all revved up, but I am afraid it is no match for the Sydney weather at the moment.
