We finally arrived after being up for over 24 hrs after our quick trip to Burma, another 15 days on the visa and we were in Kho Phangnan. This is where the Full Moon takes place once a month one of the biggest parties ever! High season will have over 30,000 people on the beach so many that you have to walk along the sea! Ours had about 20,000!

We met up with our friends Alli and Scott from Canada, we hung out with them in Laos and they told us they were gonna be with us at the same time and they were only staying down the road! The island is alot bigger than Koh Tao - you can actually ride a motor bike here as roads are better. So we all decided to get bikes out. We drove over 45 minutes right down to the south of the island as we were staying north west! We wentr into the town and then drove all the way up the hills to Hatrin Beach, considering it gets hammered every month it actually looks pristine! We had lunch and went in the sea etc - then on the way back we went to the market and got market food - sooo cheap! We got corn on cob, pork dumplins, spring rolls and fruit shakes, pancakes lol - for about 20p per item! The next day we said we would meet on the beach but it was pouring down so Rob and I went to hire another bike, we saw Ally and Scott on the way and said we'd meet them after our ROAST DINNER! haha - We haven't had one in three months (apart from a crap one in Laos) and were so craving one so we found this english pub and drove there. We thought we would drive into town and just 20 mins after looking around we decided to go back and there was some German guy standing nexct to our bike freaking out because he had just rented a bike too but smashed it into ours! We were so freaked out because they rip you off big time for any scratches you haver to be so careful! But luckily he was honest and offered to pay us money - we told him he would have to come back to our bike shop where he ended up paying 170 pounds... that was just for our bike he probs had to pay that for his too! If he wasn't spotted by a local he could have just driven off and we would have to had paid for it! So we were dissapointed that we paid for a bike and couldn't use it, I refused to get another one so we were walking along the road feeling sorry for ourselves when we saw Ally and Scott on a bike so just decided we would get another one and go around the island again! It turned out to be really good - we went right up north and found a small waterfall, then we drove back into town and they had market food again ;) That night we just chilled out at theirs on the beach and was amazing - there was a massive thunderstorm and the whole ocean was being lit up by sheet lightening. Itr was pitch black but when it hit the whole ocean went bright blue was amazing.

Full Moon! We chilled out all day as we knew it was going to be an all nighter - we said we would stay on the beach and try and see the sunrise! We met up about 8 so we started walking to Ally and Scotts and then it completely tipped down! Took us over half hour walking in the pitch black up a hill, apparently they haven't had rain in over 10 years on the night of the full moon so just our luck! But it turned out to be fine! We got painted at theirs and then they completely took health and safety to a new level by cramming 16 of us into an 8 seater tuk tuk! We were sitting on eachothers laps! It was struggling up the hill so it pulled over and half got into another taxi - mental. Omg when we got there.... it was 11 pm and there were clinics just over pouring with paraletic people, cuts, bruises, just mental! We walked down the street and everywhere is selling buckets and doing face painting etc - we just about made it throught the crowd onto thebeach - We couldn't beleive how busy it was for low season! There were bars and podiums and benches and bucket bars everywhere along the beach! Each one has different music so was amazing - just a sea of mental bright colours! We walked up a few times - the sea was being used as an open urinal.... the boys were literally just all standing in the sea using it like a urinal... lol. There was one bar that had a flaming skipping rope! So many people did it but obviously got burned but they didn't seem phased just jumped out and then someone else jumped in! There was also a flaming limbo. We didn't realise how late it was until the sun came up so quickly at about 6am! It was pretty cool to see all these people partying in the daylight.Full Moon was amazing we would definately go back and see another one!

We spent the last night with Ally and Scott on the beach having a farewell dinner. Was good fun on kho phangnan! Hope everyone had fun at the jubilee week!! Sounded really good - hopefully the weather back home gets good! :) xxxxxxxx Lots of love Gee and Rob (Pork and Chop/)
