Maz and Tom's Adventure
29th May 2012 - 31st May 2012
Kachanaburi.

Today we took the train from Bangkok to Kachanaburi which is a small town to the west. We found a nice hotel and, tired, relaxed for the evening. The next day we went to the war cemetery here, this town was very important in the war and was where the Japanese forced prisoners of war to build a train line in Burma. The cemetery was huge and very moving but we didn't know much of the history here so afterwards went to the museum dedicated to the railroad construction.
After this we went to the bridge over the river Kwai, which has been made famous by the film. Although there is a lot of history about this bridge now there isnt much evidence of it so we walked across it and back, took a few pictures and then headed back to the hotel.
The next day we went to Erawan National Park which is a famous place which has amazing waterfalls and awesome spots to swim. It was about an hours walk to the top waterfall which was by far the best and although the water was really nice it was full of fish which kept biting which, although it didn't hurt, felt a bit weird and not too sure if we liked it very much.

Next: On way to Cambodia.
