Day XII by Gary Shanghai-day 1 by Gary Wollner Day 12 started out with another first for the students and myself as we took a Bullet train from Nanjing to Shanghai. A mere 150 miles a hour and a hour and 10 minutes later we arrived in a cosmopolitan city of hundreds of skyscrapers. A city surrounded by rice fields and crop lands. After a great lunch of the kids’ choice and a time for relaxation the group was met by Moto from the Shanghai Rotary. We arrived at a great restaurant and were treated to a fantastic 4 course 12 dish meal. The kids were asking many questions of the Rotary members and were there to experience a banner exchange between the Mound and Shanghai rotary groups. Then it was another subway ride back to the hotel , For many of the students it was also there first subway experience. Hi to everyone back home! Editor’s note: In one of the largest cities in the world, we have very limited wireless access. Please do not be worried if you are not getting emails or updates from your children. They are doing just fine! Coordinator’s note: As you start to plan your child’s return, here is our flight information: Shanghai to San Francisco flight 858 and San Francisco to MSP flight 1411 arriving at 4:19 on the 26th.
