The last 6 months Wow these diary entries are getting further apart. It's been a busy six months since the last one. So lets see... We had a weekend visit back to Oz for Jackson's mums 60th birthday. Thankfully Mitch was much better on the plane this time around. We had a great day with many of our friends making the effort to come and visit us which was fab as it was also Jacko's birthday. Times have changed though as this party was during the day and we were entertained by all of our kids playing together. We had some friends form Oz come to stay also which was lovely, once again it was great to see the kids playing together. For Easter we went away down to Lake Taupo, it was very chilly but we managed to have a great time. Mitch loved the DC3 at Mac Donalds and meeting up with some friends at their campsite. He also had his first eater egg hunt. Jacko went bungy jumping but I missed out at Mitche was getting very bored and we decided to go. Mum and Dad came to visit in May. It was great to have them as I finally got around to having my double hernia fixed and I needed the extra hands to do all the lifting and entertain Mitch. I'm all good now, but still still a little tender but I least I don't have two lumps sticking out of stomach anymore. Mitch has a fabulous time with his Nan and Grandad, being spoilt and getting oodles of attention. For mothers day Jacko had a weekend trip whitewater rafting with the neighbours. Thank goodness we don't have a baby sitter as I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the photos, so glad I didn't go. For the Queen's birthday long weekend we went to Mt Maunganui. It's a lovely beach holiday spot and the weather there was beautiful, unlike Auckland. We spent as much time at the beach as possible (I use this term loosley as it's way too cold in the water here for swimming) but we enjoyed the sun and the sand just the same. I turned a big 39 this year but had a pretty good birthday in the end. We made no plans but then ended up with an impromptu pizza night with friends over. Many cocktails were drunk and we didn't go to bed until 3.30. That is not so bad until you have a little one jumping on the bed at 7am. I also went to the ballet which was fantastic and then Jacko organised a suprise baby sitter so that we could go out to dinner. It was a quiet night at a bar enjoying some good food and coctails by the open fire. Delicious. Mitch is getting big enough to take to some places now where he can really enjoy himself. We've had visits now to the Museum of Transport and Technology which he loved given his current obsession with planes and trains. We've been to sheep world to watch the dogs rounding up the sheep and of course the sheep all got a hair cut and Mitch got to pat some lambs again. After many months and many attempts we finally got Mitch to the hairdressers. We had a dvd, lollies and we had to hold him, but he finally is sporting a new short do rather than the blonde mop. Mitch has just started a new kindy. His old one was great but all the road works and the distance there meant a 50 minute round trip some days, now he goes just in the next street. He seems to be loving it so far. He is going great guns all round. He can count now and is a regular little chatter box. I can't belive he will be two next month. Jacko is flat out at work, settling in very well to his Construction Managers role. Though it comes with the price tag of working 6am to nearly 7pm every day and most saturdays. He will have to be content with being a weekend dad for now. That doesn't stop the two boys getting up to lots of mischief together. Jacko is going to do the Tough Guy Challenge again this weekend. For those who don't remember from last year its a 12km assault cause in the mud basically. This time though I wish had a babysitter as I really want to do it but no such luck. Will have to wait til next year :o( Lastly Jacko has finally agreed to renovate out kitchen, thank heavens as I hate it with a passion. So I have been very busy measuring and designing and vising kitchen places etc. Just in the quote stage but hopefully some time in the next month we will see some action. It would be good to be able to get Mitch in the kitchen and let him make some mess. Right well it's another wet day here in Auckland so it's time to leave and take Mitch to our local indoor playground, thank god for small mercies! Hope you are all well and living life to the fullest, as always don't be shy, drop us a line or skype us. Our address is jackson.lingwood. Love to all, Terri Jackson and Mitchell xxx
