Match Day - Seaforth Raiders (U11s) and Manly Roos (U12s)

Hi all,

Martin and Mark have posted brief match reports on the message board - so here's a little more information from me.

As you can see from the video clips the haka was performed in the pooring rain. The boys were once again pumped up hugely after it. The under 11s again played the first game. We went up 2 tries to nil in the first quater through tries to Damien and Pilikimi, Terell kicking both conversions. The Raiders came back strongly helped in part by a large penalty count against us.

Just a reminder, this was a night game - the first time for the boys playing under lights. This was always going to be a step-up for the U11s after their convincing win earlier in the week. Eight players in this Raiders team will play us again in the Manly Marlins rep team on Saturday. This Riaders team have one all of their game this season...

The half time score was 14-12 to us. Lokiti scored for us in the second half, the conversion attempt hitting the upright. The Riaders came back to level the scores at 19 all - which is where it staryed. Lopini and Tom Nicholas were absolutely outstanding. Tom had a high work-load on his wing and tackled hard and accurately all night. Lopinis speed and courage to chase down what looked like a certain try in a diving tackle from behind is a memory that the coaching team will never forget.  - but there were many other stars. Terell was a menace all night on attack and enjoyed some great line breaks.

Fill-time score: 19 all.Half-time score: HOBM 14, Raiders 12

Trys: Damian, Pilikimi, Lokiti, Cov: Terell 2.

The U12s are really developing as a team - in only their second game together. One of the stand-out players in this match was Kade. He won some good ball on opposition throws to the line out and scored a classic number 8 try of the back of the scrum using his size and power. Once again though, there were many exceptional efforts. Luke had another really solid game at number 10 and made smart decisions. Mikey suffered a knock to the throat in the first half and had to come off. Happy to say he has been checked out at the doctors and should be fine to play in the test match. The boys won 40 to 10 but only came away with a good lead in the last 15 minutes.

Full time score: HOBM 40, Roos 10. Half-time score: HOBM 21, Roos nil.

Tries: Fritz, Demeitri, Kade, Lokiti, Zack, and Ben.

So - still unbeated on tour. A great night's rugby.

Next: Day 7 - Rest day - and billet exchange
