Kerry does the world...

Drunken plane journeys = serious jet lag So, I'm sat on the flight to Sydney. I've just been told off for being too loud… me, too loud?! As if!! In fact, I wasn't just told off, the man needs to take a chill pill, he actually told me to F off hahaha!! If only he had known that the reason I was being so loud was because I'd just won £1,000,000 on Who wants to be a millionaire. Amazing I know!! Though when I say I, I mean me and the guy I'm sat next to on my flight called Kyle, an Aussie from Perth, who I've just found out knows the people Rachel and I met and spent NYE with in South America… small world!! Anyway, we've become boozing buddies and have literally played this game about 50 times. The only reason we've finally won is because they're now repeating the questions lol!! I feel this 13.18 hour flight would be seriously boring otherwise, I imagine he probably wishes his previous flight hadn't been cancelled lol!!! Actually, he's reading this and told me to shut up… best flight of his life apparently. Poor sod haha! 7 drinks later… or maybe more (the air steward keeps reminding me that 1 up here is 2 down there… hmmm)… I've now roped in the 2 other guys sat next to us who are from Miami. Vodka and orange all round please!! I must be screaming alcoholic as he's just asked if all 4 drinks are for me, hahaha!! No mate. Anyways, San Fran was extremely boozy but amazing. Loved it and had a fab time being showed round by Kate's cousins Mike, John and Mike's mate Chris. The sorrow about my stolen iPhone has soon subsided since I now have myself a Macbook Pro, oh yes! Don't ask how… my charm and wit perhaps ;) We went to Alcatraz on Monday 2nd which was cool. Crazy that people were actually incarcerated there… the view from the island to the city is wicked, shame they couldn't see it!! We then wandered down to Fisherman's Wharf which is tourist central but very cute and full of funky shops and restaurants. We then opted to use our legs for a change and headed back to where we were staying which included some serious hill climbing, my god that is one hilly city!! The next day we left for LA and met up with another of Kate's cousin's, Kristina, her husband Ryan and their amazing dog Woody, he is sooooo cute, what a gorgeous gorgeous doggy!! We went for an amazing meal in the evening, expensive but unreal and more than worth it and then drinks however LA being LA we couldn't get into half the places because we had guys with us… who the hell wants to go into a club full of all women?!! Very odd. 4th July/Independence day I spent the day with my lovely new pen pal friend Jon and headed down to Venice beach to mosey about and check out the nutters. The skate park was wicked as usual, they make it look totally effortless, love it!! And muscle beach had a competition on which was hilarious… some of the guys have the worst tan you have ever seen. Forget being tangoed, these guys look like they've rolled in tar. And some of the women too!! I got my picture with the buffest guy there who looked like he was a character from Street Fighter then made Jon watch the show for a while, much to his disgust! We then rented bikes which was cool, however it seems that the saying 'it's as easy as riding a bike' (if that's actually the saying) isn't so easy after all… I struggled, big style!! I was very wobbly and eventually fell off into the sand as I was trying to dismount the bike… not very cool!! We had dinner, said our farewells and then headed our separate ways. Let the letter writing commence Jon Wesley Hucks ;) We spent our last day in LA eating in a really cute cafe, amazing organic homemade food; bread, salads, cakes etc etc… all AMAZING! My god America has made my waistline expand but who cares… 'when in rome' and all that and nothing a bit of running and self control won't sort out. We had a look at the funky shops down Melrose Avenue and then chilled before saying our farewells to the gorgeous Stybels and catching our flight to Sydney! We're now on our connecting flight to Cairns. I've said au revior to Kyle, I think he was glad to get away… I was fast delving into hangover hell as well as having a very painful tongue and runny nose, very attractive… suddenly missing a nights sleep doesn't seem like such a good idea but sod it, you only live once and we had a laugh!! Kate however is fresh as a daisy, good girl. I reckon jet lag is going to hit me HARD, I'll update you on that later haha! So… I think the plan is, check into our hostel and get down the beach to catch some rays and sleep for a bit before seeing who's in our hostel and hitting the town. Though I'm strictly on a tight budget, I've spent a small fortune in America… eating in is a must now and cheap booze before we go out is definitely on the cards. Hope everyone is good at home. Miss you all. I'll update soon with news of my Aussie travels… I cannot believe I've been here for over a month already. MADNESS!! See ya! xxxxx
