Finke River Rest Area Pulled into the Finke River Rest area for the night free camp no fees. Talked to a few others and went for a walk on the dry river bed to look for wood for the fire for the night as it was going to be cold. About 4pm a young family from WA pulled in to set up their camper and we offered them to share our fire their names were Ed & Heather, we can not remember the names of the 3 kids aged 4, 7 & 9 nice family, They have been travelling around for the last 8 months and have another 4 months left to go of their 12 month escape. We had a few laughs with them and then came another family that they had meet before so they also joined us for a while with their 2 kids they were from Tassie, and on a 4 month holiday just starting out. Lots of young families on the road they say why wait and it's a good education for the kids who so school work as they travel. In the morning we said good bye as they headed up north and we continued our way down south slowly.
