Flight from Miami to London was uneventful; sat with a family who live Wimbledon; Heathrow was not as hectic as I expected; security is definitely more obvious; all intransit passengers have to re-check-in and go through a second screening; after a short walk it was off to Bahrain; that flight was almost empty so I had an opportunity to get up a walk during the flight which was another 6 hours; now in Bahrain - it's 44C.  Just had my last hot shower for three weeks - what a treat after flying for so long.  Leaving Bahrain at 11:59 p.m. arrive in Kathmandu at 8:15 Friday morning. After sitting for 27 hours the walking tours of Kath will be a welcome change;  In addition to my last shower - there is of all things a Starbucks opposite my departure gate....who knew.
