Travelling Harfields
9th Aug 2012
Olympic Britain and other things I dont know about...

Week 2 of the Olympics and I have to say I am extremely proud of the Home Land. Having held a little suaray, to watch the Opening Ceremony, with a mixed bag of Germans, Scots, English, Americans, Welsh and a few other nations thrown in for good measure, it was wonderful to just have fun and enjoy the hard efforts of the UK - having read some of the negatives of the Ceremony we are aware that for some the commentary didn't give a full enough explanation of the diversity covered, for others they 'googled' the explanations but for our little band of brothers on Friday 27 July 2012 we loved the variety of history and modern, of music and prose, the volunteers of the NHS and the cheering crowds on Blackheath!

As for the Games - I think for me the highlight so far was seeing (Princess) Zara ride through Greenwich Park, host to many a Harfield picnic, watched by her cousins, Harry and Wills, Beatrice and the like - yes I am proud of the Royals, again you can say many negative things but why do that? ... I also have to say on a contentious note that the British players of the 'national game' of football, are put to shame in both their attitude and earning by the British cycling team or rowing team - lets make tennis a national sport.... ok so I can only take credit for reading that idea and knowing the 'bloke wat wrote it'.

Look at me writing such rad things on the family blog.... shall I start on Romney and Obama - oh yes I have badly informed views on politics too!

So you want to hear about the next generation of Harfields all 5 of them don't you..... well you'll have to wait....5 I hear you cry - had to count Leanne and Amalie in there too as they are obviously part of the younger Harfield generation. But more to the point..... the American Harfields..... Colin AND Liz are both very ensconced working hard for Kensington Community Church http://www.kensingtonchurch.org Yes Liz has joined the ranks of Harfields working for the church.... no surprise there and running their intern programs... yes churches have interns, in this case loads of interns. As for us older generation - Keith's new teaching dvd on his world famous Paddles Routine will come out in a few weeks..... what can I say - apart from 'get em while their hot'! Not sure why I'd say that. And I'm starting to promote his theatre show, Live and Tricking and of course the new keynote series. Well thats enough from us ... where is Felicity with her up date.... FELICITY.... get down here and tell the friends and family what you've been up to.........
