Australia - Melbourne Part One

My interviews took a whole day but once that arduous task was completed Brandan and Chris picked me up and we headed into town for some sightseeing. Staying with Nicky and Chris we got to see some of Melbourne’s summer nightlife including quirky bars, microbreweries and outdoor cinemas and loved the place. It’s a little bit San Francisco and little bit London with lots of cultural things going on and has a more artsy vibe than Sydney with some very interesting outfits.

As well as catching up with Chris and Nicky, we also stayed with Richard and Chantelle and their lovely girls. The twins were hilarious and introduced me to their guinea pigs – I don’t know if they believed Brandan when he said he’d eaten one in Peru! We were treated a proper family braai and Richard took us on a tour of Mount Macedon and Hanging Rock. I’ve since read Picnic at Hanging Rock, very good and very spooky, although it didn’t seem that scary when there are hundreds of kids jumping around on it.

While we were in Melbourne we also caught up with Miss Ruth Thevathasan who showed us the coolest areas and coffee bars and then took us on a fantastic whirlwind tour of the Mornington Peninsula with some yummy wines at Montalto accompanies by excellent views and wood oven pizza.

To top it off on our final day in Melbourne we got the news I had the job, amazeballs.
