St Helena Sunday 10th January 2016

Well first off we want to wish a very special little girl a big Happy 2nd Birthday.

Isabelle The Captains granddaughter has turned 2, oh man where has the time gone, I remember like it was only yesterday how we tried so hard to make it home for her birth.

We sailed into Australia on the 4th December, 2014 thinking we had plenty of time and got held up with customs in Brisbane who kept us there for weeks, we were so worried we would not make it back in time, but we did with about 10 days to spare, thank god.

I can so remember the very first time we looked at this little bundle of auburn hair, she was just a few hours old, oh man was she so cute, and still is with her big blue eyes and mop of red hair.

The Captain got sent a very happy little pic, with her licking a spoon covered in chocolate cake mix, The Birthday cake, and we heard a little rumour that there was a Peppa Pig party happening.

I so hope you enjoyed your day little one, we send all our love your way, today and always.

Lots of love from Grandad and Granny Sandy.

Although I have been busy with the oiling I have also been turning this boat into a cheese making factory, well kinda anyway.

Because we can't get feta cheese here I thought I would try and make some.

The only problem is in the recipe it says you have to put a weight on it and let it sit for 40mins or so.

Well the hunt was one for a weight, and because I still had painting on my brain, I thought Yeap a paint tin, so I go get that still not enough weight ok a full bottle of olive oil on top of that, so the leaning tower of Piza, sat like this for an hour just to be sure and nope it did not topple over at all...haha

I have made it before, and it turned out ok, but not much flavour, so this time it's sitting in truffle flavoured olive oil, and chilli flakes, we tried a little bit and it still needs to sit awhile longer, a few days time will tell.

We also have another two interesting boats come in the other day, one is a very traditional looking Hawaiian style boat called Hokule'a, and the other is a 40ft yacht which is their back up vessel.

There was great excitement from the locals when it came in, so of coarse we had to find out why.

Apparently they are doing a circumnavigating using only the stars for navigation, they are almost at the end of their travels, once they get to Hawaii, that is.

They also are trying to do it with nothing modern, they have no lights, but we were told they have been seen walking around with miners light type torches.

Than we have just found out they were getting propane tanks filled and I don't think the old Hawaiians had iPhones either...haha

Well tomorrow is another day.
