Election fever..and a giant ash cloud on the horizon!

I have today picked blue, not because im putting my X in david camerons box, you understand, but it is the colour of my new work uniform. and compared to shapeless brown and mustard,  navy trousers and a blue striped shirt is the greggs equivalent of a chanel suit.  photos will follow. also this week, stop press, the electoral debate live on tv...supposedly 15 million brits were tuned in avidly watching so that they could make up their minds who to vote for. and the winner of said debate is someone no one outside the uk will ever have heard of, as he is the leader of the liberal democrats...a party that are the political equivalent of the church of england...wishy washy, well-meaning sandal-wearers, who read the guardian.  as someone who grew up in an incrediably political age..the cold war, thatcher, kruschev, then andropov (remember him)..then gorbachov..reagan etc..its just beyond my ken that young people do not even know what the political parties stand for. or that there are people who would ever, ever just vote what their mum votes! god forbid!

but then this is also the week that the whole of europe came to a standstill due to eyjafjallajokull! well, not the whole of europe...just here, poland, ireland, france, switzerland, denmark, norway, holland, sweden, austria, belgium, slovakia, germany, hungary, all 3 baltic states and the czech republic. this phenomenon has been exacerbated by the funeral of the polish president, as all the heads of these countries, and presumably all the others who have non-ash airspace all have to travel to poland which has no flights going in and out, all have to get there by car. scotland has been closed since wednesday, and i thank my lucky stars that im not jetting off anywhere till next month..though actually the last eruption of said volcano, in something like 1820 caused ash clouds for over 2 years. what larks.

do you think that the earth is trying to shake us off? try harder...thats my advice.

Next: clouds on the horizon.
