News from Bright Ayes
6th Nov 2010  Chefchaouen – said to be the most beautiful small town in Morocco
Because of the inviting blue-washed walls of its cozy medina, Chefchaouen does not lack for tourists. However, according to our Rough Guide to Morocco, before 1920 it had been visited by just three Westerners, who definitely were not welcomed. In fact, one of them was poisoned by townsfolk, one spent just an hour there disguised as a rabbi, and the third nearly lost his life when the town was alerted to the presence of “a Christian dog.” Today the locals are friendly and the tourist dollars are valued.
