We drove to Universal Studios early (9.30) this morning and spent the whole day there. The first thing we did was the studio tour bus which was very interesting and much to Saras delight, included wysteria lane from desperate housewives. It was lovely to walk around the decks and have a look in the old art deco staterooms and bar areas. Next stop was venice beach about an hour up the coast. We decided to spend a full day there and arrived about 9.30. The place is so big it has a bus service running round it and a cable car over the top. Most of the animals seemed a bit like the locals, overfed and asleep or hiding inside their homes. It seems that single or double killings are not rare enough to make even the local news. The drive into San Diego along freeway eight, runs alongside the mexican border and we passed through two border patrol police checkpoints. On our way to Yuma, we found a huge outlet mall in the middle of the desert and stopped for a bit of shopping.
