Farina

Stopped at Farina Ruins and camp grounds cost $5pp with flush toilets and a shower, not a lot of pressure from the shower and you have to light the donkey first to get your hot water but OK.

Plenty to walk and see around the old town ruins very interesting out at the cemetery.

This is were the 2 lines cross the old gauge 3'6 and the newer wide gauge 4'8 that was changed in the early 1900's to move people the narrower gauge was only built to move stock.

Now both of these have been replaced with the new Ghan Line to Darwin.

I read in one of the brochures that the station owner does tours around the area so we decided to stay longer originally we were only going to stay for 2 nights but ended up staying for 4 great place.

The tour cost $25.00 pp and he needs to have at least 4 to make it worth while you can go with him or take your own car in a lag along which is what we did so we could take Beau with us.

The tour was great very informative and he really knows the area/bush and outback.

He also showed us were a lot of car commercials are made and told us a few of the filming secrets.

As we had a fire pit and wood BBQ supplied at the site we did most of our cooking out side either in the camp oven or on the wood BBQ.

We ran out of water today but its OK we can fill up at Leigh Creek on our way out.

From here we are thinking of going to the Flinders Rangers.
