We are aiming for Lake Song Kul, an alpine lake at 3,016m, although access will depend on snow levels. The fertile fields near the lake provide summer grazing for the herds of cattle, goats, sheep and horses brought up by the nomadic people who set up their yurts on the edge of the lake.
