Kuala Lumpur The journey was a long one that we were not looking forward to... We got a small long tail boat from our place over to the main land of Krabi then a dirty old minivan which didn't start the first couple of times for about half hour (the seats weren't actually attached lol) then a VIP minivan for a few hours then they kicked us out and put us in another mini van and then we got out and were taken to the office where we had to wait 3 hours for the VIP coach. When that finally arrived it was about 7pm and we had been on tho move since 830 am. We got given pretty good seats we were right at the top at the very front of the coach with the massive wondow right in front of us... although later on when the air con was on full throttle we were freezing as were the only ones without blankets... I really didn't feel well so was not as good journey. Finally we got to KL at 5 am and got a taxi to our place where they told us check in was at 1pm... so we had to pay nearly for a whole night to check in straight away which was OK as we were not going to wait until 1pm! Really friendly nice people in Malaysia - the hostel manager wanted to make sure we had everything we needed and they gave us really good directions. The hostel was in a really good location - right near the main town where there is a monorail - really good and only 20p a go! We walked to the station and it was like Beijing you get a temp ticket this one was a plastic coin and you keep it and then at the end it goes back into the machine. We went to the main town where the Petronas Twin Towers were - they were amazing! So big! We wanted to check out what time we could go to the top everyone had reccommended us to get there for 830 am so we can pick the best time so we decided we would go back the next day - anyways we went to the towers and discovered this massive shopping mall! It was like lakeside - loads of designer shops food courts and they actually had a fashion show on whilst we were there. We decided as we had the rest of the afternoon free we would see a film at the cinema! It was really busy and about 3pounds each so we saw Men in Black 3! We went and got some food - no beer though as very muslim place. We got up early the next day (Rob had'nt set the clock forward an hour for Malaysian time so we thought it was 7 it was actually 6am!) We went and got breakfast wondering why it was so quiet and then went to the Petronas Twin Towers to try and book a time.... closed on Mondays! ooops! So we decided to get a hop on hop off bus around the city. We stopped at the KL tower, the orchid gardens which were really pretty, china town and the centreal market. Was really good! We then went for some food and went back for the night as had our flight to Bali the next day. KL was really good! Lots to see and the twin towers are amazing. We thought the people were really friendly. We saw alot of women in the full berkas as it is really religious, the markets were really cheap.. although we did have a nandos as soon as we saw one! A bit of western food never goes a miss the day before a long journey...! Was really good! :) Lots of love to everyone! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
