KUTA

After everyone (including an arrogant ozzy woman who kept saying 'Go to Baaaali, you'll thank me' ) kept asking us why we weren't going to Bali we decided to look into it. The weather was not amazing in Thailand and it was low season, Bali is apparently high season from June - August and the weather is good! We thought about it and decided we would rather Bali than the rest of Malaysia so booked flights! We got the Air Asia flight from KL to Bali which was only 3 hours and then got a taxi when we got to the airport. A friend of mine had told me thed journey from the airport to the town was about 15 mins, all the taxi men were on us like a rash! They were trying to rip us off big time one man asked us for 300,000 IDR which was like 40 usd!! We told him he was dreaming and then one man offered it to us for 70,000 which was about 5 pounds!
We checked into the COCO hostel in Kuta town which was big and had a/c but was a bit out the way. We went out for some food and then took a walk along the beach - massive waves and everyone surfing! We took a really long walk throughout the town of Kuta and got absolutely hounded by all the locals trying to sell you something, you literally can't walk more than 10 seconds before someone is trying to sell you DVD,motorbike,sunglasses, everything.... There is a big row full of market shops so you just get so many locals trying to get you tyo spend money lol! We just ignored them and walked on and found that the peopel are actually really friendly.
We knew there was a Bubba Gump in KL and spent ages trying to find it as they don't have one in UK or OZ and we really wanted one, we had been looking forward to it since Hong Kong so when we couldn't find the one in KL we decided to go to the one in Kuta, we walked all the way there and then had Bubba Gump!! (The theme restaurant to the film Forrest Gump) Big in Amercia and basically all shrimp dishes but Rob had a really good chicken meal and it was not as expensive as in USA so that was our treat!

We spent the two days in Kuta just walking along the beach and the markets was so so busy - really funny as there are so many ozzys out here - the locals all put on ozzy accent and go 'Elo Maaate' haha.

We booked out ticket to Gili Terwangen for the next day 6 am pick up. Lots of love to everyone back home :) hope weather is picking up??? xxxxxxxxx
