To all of you who have been following our journey we apologize for not updating for awhile but we became involved with Face Book but will now keep this up to date as each of us thought the other was doing the diary here.

We are currently in Mataranka working at the caravan park we are in (free site plus a small wage) we do 4 days on and 4 days off sharing with another couple.

On our days off we go exploring and have been as far as Darwin.  We regularly get up to Katherine and also explore this area while we are there.

Coming across from Mareeba was fun as we had to double back over country we had already covered so had new ideas of what we wanted to see that we missed first time around. I caught some Barra at Normanton which I didn't do on the first visit. 

Travelled south from Normanton to Cloncurry and stayed by the Corella Dam for 3 nights, then over to Camooweal and camped by the billabong there, explored the local sink holes and enjoyed the Drovers Camp Museum. Highly recommend this stop.

Mt Isa was our next stop and I think we covered everything to be seen here.  Tried to pick up work here as there were plenty of jobs advertised but no one even got back to me re my applications so I rang a couple and was told that the positions were filled.  Spoke to one guy who has been there for 6 months and he couldn't get a start either and he had mine experience.  Moved on to Mataranka where we currently are until about September.
