Hello from Quesnel
Dear Ron and Dolores:
All is well here at the moment. We've had two snowfalls and several cold nights. Most of the snow melted again. We are looking forward to Christmas. This year we will spend a few days in Kelowna with Colin and his family.Paula and her family will be in Q. for several days . Chris' mother, Ruth is VERY ill so they will be together at their home. Lana and Karl announced their plan of marriage---sometime in the future. We are happy for them and we really like Karl too.
All the Best and we can phone near Christmas(number, SVP).Love, Doug, Helen and Family

Hi from Avalon
Hi Ron & Dolores. Good to see your latest news and photos. I hope you aren't finding life too cold in Tassie, but the house looks a lovely place to spend the winter while you work on Sherbro. We were interested to see the Reidy's article and prize-winning photo in Cruising Helmsman. We have had some great cruising this warm and sunny winter, with some playful whales as a bonus. Best wishes, Sue and Jim

Just catching up
Hi Ron and Dolores
Been thinking of you from time to time since we got back to Australia a year ago now already. Looks like you're having THE LIFE! We're living in Melbourne. Working, renovating and caring for aged parents. Enjoyed catching up on your adventures again. Got your blog details from Sarah as we had 'lost' them when we left Hong Kong. Drop in when you next sail by!

Hi from Bermi
Congrats on reaching Tassy. Your house view looks idyllic. We've just celebrated a year of being land-locked in Bermi but have the bonus of looking out over the sea which gives great satisfaction. The yellow fin season has just finished. There were hundreds of boats and trailers parked on the hill by the boat ramp. Now the place is settling quietly into winter - 18degrees today and no frosts. And just the locals sitting around the coffee shops and not many seefaring visitors.
The new fish co-op is looking very impressive and there's much speculation as to what sort of retail outlets there may be. There's talk of at least a two restaurants. This might not be as good as it sounds as it's hard to lure top quality chefs to a place as small as Bermi. So enjoy your 'land legs' for awhile and we look forward to your next instalment.
Cheers
Hazel

Catching up
Hi Ron and Dolores:
It must be a good feeling to be ashore for a while in Geilston Bay. I expect that your season is changing to winter. As for us, summer is coming after a long winter. The ice finally 'went out' on the last day of April. Yesterday we attended the Retired Teachers luncheon-about 35 in attendance. Mike Stevens is our pres and he kept it 'lively.' We don't plan to travel outside BC this year.Three family visits this summer. Continue having a fantastic adventure.Cheers, Doug and Helen

Congratulations!
You made it to Tasmania at last! Glad it all went well and best wishes from us. We're just going on another little trip up Pittwater to Smiths Creek. That's about as far as we get in the boat, although we're off to South America (by air)in a few weeks.

Sounds and Looks amazing
Good evening... Thought I would say another hello from Quesnel. This one is from a long time in the past, I am sure it must be at least 25+ years ago now I am not sure... Looks very enjoyable. Good luck, all the best...

Hello from BC
Hello Ron and Dolores
Our thoughts are with you. You must be out there on your next adventure , having tons of fun.
Every day we see more news of Australia's terrible disasters of fires and floods. We think of you and the many wonderful Australians we have met. Please give us a short email to assure us of your safety.
As for us, we are in the grips of a Canadian winter like many that you endured with us here in Quesnel.To-day is overcast but several recent mornings have been beautiful with the overnight frosts. Spring is on its way. Going out to Shiraoi House tonight for a Japanese dinner with friends..Bob and Marie, Kas and Joan and others. We'll raise a glass and remember your quest!!!
Cheers, Doug and Helen
