Hello Kate and Phil from London
Hiya Kate after quite a while! Lovely to see your news and that you and Phil are managing to take well-earned breaks for holidays this year. I'm in London with a contract till end November which takes me travelling all over, doing mini-research with groups of youth and others involved in sexual & reproductive health projects. Off on Friday for 3 weeks, to Bangladesh and Tonga. And YES I'll be visiting Jenny during a stopover in New Zealand - meeting up in Wellington. One day I'll make it your way! Nina & Amaru are in good form, both got Firsts for their BA degrees recently finished. They were staying with me this week in my little studio flat in Ladbroke Grove - Bolivian togetherness. More soon Kate, lots of love & keep writing, and a belated happy birthday - Sanna xoxoxoxo

The White Witch strikes again!
Hello Most Gorgeous Kate Thanks so much for the latest update - and the photos. You are doing an amazing job with the farm - no wonder your guests are leaving you such lovely messages. With you and Phil as hosts, such a fab place to stay and such an incredible location, it's bound to be a winner. And so glad the marketing (and returning of phone calls) has paid off! It will make such a difference to you guys to have your white goods set up - you really won't know yourselves. Hopefully it will cure your chillblains though missus - they are not nice things. News here then - you white witchy person. You did it again! When you phoned me back in april - I had a niggly feeling after I put the phone down, then did a preggers test the next day, and guess what - even down the phone wires you helped! (in the witchy sense of course, the physical side of things I guess we have to put down to Gazza!!!). So - Jake's baby brother or sister is due to finish cooking around the beginning of December, but may be enticed out through the sunroof a little earlier than that. It will all depend on how big the baby is when I have a scan at 36 weeks... Jake meanwhile continues to grow and grow and grow. We went to visit Myles a couple of weeks back, and they are the same size. Jake is crawling now, and waving and clapping - and his first words were 'Mama'. Gazza spends ages trying to teach him 'Papa' and 'Dada' but no to avail yet... Mellon is well and we've made the decision now that he'll accompany us on our big move to NZ when it happens in early 2010. Providing the vet gives him a clean bill of health, he'll be on that plane, ready to take up post as Chief Nanny in our new house... He sends cuddles and miaows. Take care my lovely, and write another fab installment when you get a mo. All my love Kirstie

Rat race
Another great blog, I was beginning to think the worst. Seems you swapped one life working all the hours you could for another, though this one sounds like far more fun! Bet you can barely recall Bishopstone! Stay safe. D.x

Happy Birthday !
Living in New Zealand means we get the new day before you, so I can be the first to wish you a happy birthday. Hope it's a good one, leaving you with lovely memories and not too much of hangover. We're just back from a relaxing holiday in Vanuatu and can now cope better with the stress of packing up and moving to a different town. Same email address, so we can still keep in touch. Jenny xxx

Hello Kate.
Hi Kate, I just caught up with your blog after a lapse (on my part) . Great to read your references to your father. Sanna sent me the photos from Bath, quite understandable that you weren't there , but good to see so many Rances together. My first grandchild arrived in March, and we're moving house soon, so our life isn't too tedious here in New Zealand. Not as exciting as Africa though ! Love from your ungodly Godmother.

Hiya Kate lovely blog
Enjoying your account of life on the farm Kate. Keep on with the writing & photos! All well in La Paz - tho I can't say the same for Santa Cruz in the eastern lowland plains, where there's to be an illegal referendum on Sunday engineered to get their "autonomy" from the rest of Bolivia, and basically hang on to the wealth and privilege of an elite minority. Meanwhile our presi Evo has just nationalised the telecommunications industry and some oil companies. Watch the news, Bolivia appears in it on such occasions! More soon, lots of love, Sanna xxx
