Thanks
Lyds.. not sure you'll read this.. but I've really enjoyed reading your blogs, albeit very briefly and not all. they've certainly cheered me up no end and the SA stuff is fascinating. Will these blogs stay online for much longer I wonder? May be catch up soon again in London with Debs and Juliette.

Hi
Hi,

Hope you are well and are enjoying your travels! I am carrying out some research as part of my final year studies into the use of travel blogging websites to help travellers record and narrate their experiences.

I would be obliged if you could help me collect data for my project by agreeing to participate in a short interview consisting of questions relating to your travelling experiences and how you have used the internet to aid you.

May I assure you that the data collected will be managed with complete anonymity and will only be used for the purposes of this analytical study.

If you have any questions relating to my study please feel free to email me at: saba.razaq@student.manchester.ac.uk

You help will be much appreciated.

Regards,

Saba

Greetings
Dearest Lyds, I have meant for some time to get in touch and soon will email something longer. But for now I wanted to tell you that I have spent a glorious hour reading your blog at the top of Russian Hill in a rather foggy San Francisco. It has made me giggle greatly, and I have tears in my eyes from the Siena entry. We wish you both a very happy New Year. You are in our thoughts and we're looking forward to having you home again. With much love, Kate, Roderick and Monty.

Happy Christmas!!!!
Hi Guys...just logged on before going down to the Bedford Arms at Sidmouth on Christmas Day, as we are the only ones who are 'at home', so will miss you guys and the usual banter.Have not had chance to read your last three entries (will do so after a couple of drinks at the Bedford) but could not miss the opportunity to wish you a Happy Christmas and New Year.
PS. In case you have not heard Elisa and Dan have got engaged, wedding in spring 2009.

Colonial church music
I have been moved by Lydia's descriptions of the imposition of the Christian faith on the natives of S American - also I LOVED Jeremy Irons in 'The Mission'. But if anyone is interested in the wonderful religious music that emerged from this period, I heartily recommend you to a disk called 'New World Symphonies'. produced by Hyperion, who say "Following the discovery of the Americas, Christianity and the Roman Catholic Church was established with incredible speed. Many of the Native Indians were part of highly sophisticated civilizations, most notably the Aztecs and the Incas, and were very responsive to the new ideas, especially music, which was already an important social and spiritual element in their lives." A treat, I promise.

Hey guys
Hey there, i've just printed off your last few entries to read on the toob on the way home and had a sneak preview at the photos. Gorgeous colours and landscapes aren't they, and really gross mummies!! (that foot, eeuuwww...). I get the impression there isn't going to be one serious photo of Graz for the whole trip...! lots of love xxxxxx
