Writing the entries was a challenge, but also a therapeutic exercise. Trying to process and explain things that I was seeing and feeling. |

| Hi Norm. I just wanted to thank you for keeping a blog of your time in Cameroon. You are a very gifted writer (!) and I have enjoyed experiencing a bit of Africa through your voice. I can relate to what you will be going through in the coming months -- I lived in Nicaragua and El Salvador for 5 years and when I moved back to the U.S. (to NH for grad school) it was a very gradual and strange transition. I hadn't even been speaking English most of the time, not to mention the changes in the climate, music, culture, politics, food and friendships. It was the most enriching experience of my life and it was very bittersweet coming home. I hope you can get out there and dance a mambo in NH in my honor. Andy and I do get out latin dancing with our new neighbors in MN once in awhile -- they were dance instructors before they had children, so they are very fun to go out with! Have a great re-entry -- and thanks again for sharing the blog! |

| About all the emotions you must be feeling right now .. leaving .. coming home .. where is home! Enjoy San Francisco, last time I was there was with my brother Billy .. bittersweet .. but, my favorite visit never the less. MANY, keep calling and having me promise that I'll arrange a get together .. once I know for sure your date for NH, we'll plan. Enjoy your last few weeks. I'm heading to NY this weekend for my neices wedding .. so excited about it all .. all my brothers, sister, neices and nephews together for five days .. staying in the same hotel .. they will probably never let us back.
