Hi
Thanks everyone for leaving messages...I do love reading them

Bronwyn, it was great to hear what you have been up to. Surely you've got quite a while to go until you're thinking about retirement yet?! Say hi to David for me.

Jo, I didn't get to Sea World - there was so much to see & do in San Diego. I also really wanted to go to the Wild Animal Park (a bit like Dubbo Open Plain Zoo I think) but ran out of time.

Allison, yes have definately settled into the daily grind over here and will be back into it on Monday And you'll have to tell Simon I wasn't training the sharks to attack people, only tuna. Interestingly, they use to put carboard cut outs of seals in water and the sharks had a field day with them. However it was outlawed as it was thought they were training the sharks to attack seals. Hello? That's what sharks do & eat isn't it? I hope you have a great time at Norfolk Island and do lots of snorkeling - I have heard it's meant to be very good with some unique species.

Evelyn, I've posted a selection of my pics from the trip now. I'm also going to put in the mail a DVD slideshow I have made so feel free to show it around.

Jussy, thanks so much I was happy with a couple of the zoo photos, espeically the baby panda & polar bears. San Diego was warm, but apparently its not like that all the time.

I think that's it. Take care everyone,
Love Mel

Hello
Hello Mel, I have not replied often, but read your news and think what a great time you are having. You certainly manage to fit in a lot of things which is great. My daughter has just returned from 2 weeks in Bali which she enjoyed and hopefully will inspire her to save her money and travel more. David, Bryn and myself had 3 lovely weeks in Northern Territory travelling in a camper, enjoying the scenery and warm climate. Roll on retirement I think, I can't wait to retire and am already planning our next trips away and hope this includes overseas in the not too distant future. I have been busy on the internet and have booked to go to two conferences, one in Hobart and one in Gold Coast both in November, so am looking forward to that.David is gpong to come with me for both as have decided that Bryn is old enough to leave with Caitlin in charge. Better get back to work. Keep enjoying yourself. Lots of love Bronwyn

Holidays
Mel seems like you've settled into more of a daily routine/grind in Ireland but it's exciting that you're off travelling some more. Must say when I told Simon you were going diving with sharks his response was great she's training sharks to attack people! Am feeling envious of your travels but thankfully I have holidays coming up for the first 2 weeks of September and we're going to Norfolk Island for 8 days. Hopefully it's going to be warm up there - it will definately be warmer than here because it's been freezing in Gippsland the last couple of weeks. I just wanted a break from work but it should be nice and relaxing - Simon played a large part in selecting the location because of course there had to be coastline and surf. Apparently there's also great snorkelling and diving there if I was so inclined- maybe I'll try snorkelling again. Interestingly too we both had to renew our passports because although Norfolk Island is an Australian territory island a passport is required!

SanD
Hey Mel! Just had a look at your San D. zoo photos - they're great. You've got some fabulous shots. San D. sounds like a nice place - albeit a tad warm at the moment Jus
