Boston
Depends what floats your boat.
There is a whole lot of history in Boston so there are lots of touristy things to do.
- Freedom trail (walking tour which gives you a good lay of the land)
- Do a ferry trip across the bay on the public ferry. lot cheaper than the touristy boats and pretty good to see the skyline
- we liked the us navy yard across the bay and checked out the uss casin - a destroyer from WWI
- little italy area has some cracking italian food
- you will trip over loads of irish bars
- Definitely try Sam Adams beer and some new england chowder - local specialities
- Cambridge is a nice area across the river where Harvard is with some nice eateries and bars
- A boat trip to Salem to check out whales and the witch museum in Salem is not bad
- If you can hire a car then I would and explore a bit further a field - the coast up the Mass coast is lovely and Cape cod is lovely (south of boston)
- if you can get tickets (and you havent been before /depending on the season) I would try and check out some local sporting events. When in rome etc. If you are going soon then its the american footie season/ice hockey.

Anyway - try for size. In States always check out tourist info centres when you arrive. You can get free maps and lots of ideas for free/cheap things to do.
Hope that helps and have a lovely time!
