OZ East Coast Having spent New Year in Sydney, it was time to work my way up the east coast, stopping at various places along the way (such as Byron Bay, the Whitsundays, Fraser Island and Cairns). to sum it up, it was quality!!! the trip begin at surf school which took us as far as Byron, stopping at various beaches along the way for some surfing. here came my near death experience... a bull shark, yes, i said bull shark (as in the one thats been eating loads of people recently) swam under my surf board, needless to say i needed to change my wetsuit! the group was quality and I ended up travelling up the coast with some of them. After Byron we went to Surfers Paradise (average) and then to see Jrock in Brisbane - cheers for the accom and feed buddy!!!! Noosa was next and involved some kayaking in the everglades and a little surfing in possibly the dirtiest water (besides england). we dominated Fraser Island and we nearly crashed and rolled the jeep just the 3 times. next came the Whits, they were simply awesome. sailing with dolphins swimming by the boat and stopping to snorkel in turtle infested waters. after a rest for 2 days on magnetic island, cairns was the next target and it didnt let us down. I took my SSI (padi) scuba course and saw all kinds of cool fish (reef sharks, lion fish, more turtles, cuttlefish and even Nemo). anyway, im off to Ayers Rock 2 moro before Tazzy to see the boys. laters
