1st Jun 2006 - 2nd Jun 2006Jazz Cafe and hanging out with Lauren! So Thursday we just had classes, but I ended up hanging out in Florence that night. We went to the San Miniato Church and we saw the monks there do their chants. It was an interesting experience but I only liked it for about five minutes. After that it was kind of boring. Then after we found something to eat we went to this jazz cafe that was really cool. It was just this place called the Jazz Cafe and there was a live jazz band there. We sat down and I got some gelato with coffee poured on it, it was very good. The band was also very entertaining. Then Friday morning we had onsite class in Florence. We went to Santa Croce where Michaelangelo and Galileo Galilei are buried. Then we went to the Bargello museum which was kind of boring because it was just a ton of naked sculptures. I mean it was neat I just hate having to stand there and take notes on every single thing that they tell us. Sometimes I wish we could just listen and enjoy whatever the tour guide is talking about. Anyways...after we got done with our museums and stuff I went and hugn out with Lauren for the rest of the day. We got gelato and walked around Florence and stuff, and we shopped some, however I didn`t get anything. Then we went back to her villa so I could see her room and where she is living here. It was very nice, definately different than ours because it is in the city and Harding`s villa is definately more in the country. It was fun, then we ate at this pizzeria that was near her villa, which was good, but I thought Gallo`s in Scandicci was much better. Then I had to ride the bus back to Scandicci all alone and that was pretty scary. But that`s ok I made it. I`m just glad that some people met me at the bottom of the hill to walk back to the villa with me. So anyways that was a fun day. So that`s about it other than class that has been going on here!!!
