Sunny Juneau (until today)!

Had a fantastic 22 hr ferry ride into Juneau on Friday - arrived in glorious sunshine - suddenly all of the mountains came into view! Actually been sunny here until today so we quite like Juneau! Hostel in downtown for one night, but left due to strange opening times. So have camped for 3 nights here by a lake leading up to the Mendenhall Glacier, the tentsite location is awesome! Met a British family (woo!) at the campground which was cool and also weird to hear a British accent! After meeting them we were roped into a game of frisbee with two drunken americans, rich threw the lady a frisbee, she was so drunk it wacked up straight in the eye! She kept screaming that she could see stars. Then the hosts came along and threw them out as they hadn`t paid! The night was topped off by seeing a porcupine in a tree on the way back to our tent, they are huge and can climb trees! All americans we have told so far have not been impressed so please UK people, you are meant to be wowed by this and go `ooh` and ahh. Hiked E. Glacier trail yesterday and met some locals who gave us a lift back. The guy is a photographer, check out his local shots at www.hale-alaska.com. We will be posting our photos from here in a week or two! Anyway we are now off to downtown Juneau as need proper food!
