Cracks in the Earth
20th Jul 2006
Long Road Out

Started at 3.00am from Edinburgh, wakening up with as much coffee as we could cram in before driving out to the airport.

Flight to Amsterdam was unremarkable, and got on flight to Chicago easily enough from there.
We arrived at Chicago at 1.15pm and waited for the plane to Denver at 2.45pm. The weather had other ideas however. Massive storms across the country forced a shutdown and the planes began to queue like ants at a picnic. So 2.45 turned into 3.30, then 4.30, then 5.30 and so on. By 9.00pm our gate was ready but the plane previous had an illness onboard so we had to wait for the unlucky passenger to be offloaded for treatment. Finally at 10.30pm, we got onboard.

Arrived in Denver absolutely shattered at about 1.00am and still had to endure picking up our car rental and navigating our way through Denver on the wrong side of the road, all the way to Gay`s house.

We arrived at about 2.30ish, had a smoke and went to bed.....

Next: Prepping (or mongin` aboot)
