Mexico baby!
6th Aug 2006Cuernavaca Part 2 so am still in cuernavaca but leaving tomorrow morning to go to Taxco with all its lovely silver jewellery - if i buy 1kilo i get it at wholesale price....mmm wholesale! anyways, so weve been vv lazy here and not doing much sightseeing but that suits me fine! weve only 4days left in mexico (scary thought!) so have seen soo much that i just want to chill now and hang with eleanor, especially cos by the time shes home ill (hopefully) be working in NYC for BA. well we can all hope! its a really nice town here although theres not a lot to do. the mexican men love the blonde hair thing so i have random cars pulling over and saying things like hey, how you doing? is annoying after a while but not half so bad as mexico city! we went dancing last night to a place called harry´s bar - "a shady place for sunny people". it was great fun, they had a mix of spanish and american pop, along with salsa so it was a lot of fun and who knew that enrique would help me with my spanish?! i had a mexican (greasy, slimy and wearing all white - yuck!) ask me to dance in spanish and i was like do do doo i have no idea what you are saying cos i am an ignorant foreigner with no spanish, although i did know what he was asking (thanks to enrique and i suppose kathryn kealy in belfast one night....). anyways i had a lot of fun and got chatted up by a sleazy waiter who was actually really sweet in the end and told me to be careful when i was walking home! so today we went to the palace cos it was free but i have something wrong with my eye so i cant see very well and its really sore - basically the same thing as i had in paris but it doesnt seem to want to go away. oh well, hteres no more museums really so its not too big of a deal.....we are however, going to the wrestling tonight, weather permitting, and checking out the mexican wrestling. its pretty legend actually was watching some yday and it was really athletic and stuff - way better than WWF (or whatever its calling itself now!). nothing else really to report, still cant believe have only 4 days until im in NYC...and here i was thinking that being in mexico would feel like a lifetime, well it does feel like ive been here for ages but also like i just arrived....looks like will have to come back.....by the way have i mentioned that corona here is 2 for 2.50e? looks like ill be keeping my beer belly just that lil longer...hopefully will have it disappeared by the next time i see any cute dublin players....
