Peace out!

Going going...nearly gone So last weekend we went to the Riverfire which is a massive fireworks show on the Brisbane river, it must cost a fortune to set up because fireworks are launched from almost everywhere…off the bridges, off the top of skyscrapers and from big barges placed along the river. We went with our old next door neighbour Rob, his girlfriend Nicola couldn’t make it because she was working…so the 3 of us had to push our way through thousands and thousand of people to try and find a decent place to watch it all. The show started with 2 fighter jets putting their afterburners on and flying over the river, the noise was incredible…all you could hear was this huge boom and then the jets would fly past and in the distance you’d see a speeding ball of fire, and before you knew it they were out of sight. The jets amused Rob and Andy no end and they hardly had any interest in the fireworks, but I thought that they were amazing! The fireworks lasted for about half an hour and were incredible. We watched them from Southbank which is close to where we live – then once it had all finished it took us like half an hour to get back to the road because there were so many people. After that we went for a few drinks in a bar called Union Jacks, well a few drinks turned into a hell of a lot of vodka redbulls, it turned out to be a fun night :0) So we’re very nearly ready to go, just 3 days left…now it’s time to do all of the crap stuff like packing and cleaning the place up, not looking forward to doing all that…and I have to make a start tonight but I have a hangover cos me, Andy, Rob and Nic went out last night and it turned into a late one. First we had dinner in a place called Sizzler which turned out to be a real disappointment, you get a salad bar and stuff – and on top of that you can order a main, but the food just wasn’t that nice, especially as it cost us $25 each!!! After dinner we went for drink in this cool bar called The Old Port Office, where we all had a laugh and a dance. It was a pretty interesting end to the night though, Rob wanted to go home as he had work the next day (I should have done the same ha ha ;0), anywho Nic wanted to stay out with us, so Rob went home and when Nic got home a few hours later well they had a blazing row and Nic ended up storming out, getting a taxi to the airport and flying to Sydney! She has friends down there, but what a crazy thing to do – she is a funny thing. Well I spoke to her today and she is at Sydney airport trying to get a flight back to Brisbane…all in all, that little trip costing $700!!!! And the worst part is, is that they have tickets to fly to Sydney next week to spend some time there before going to NZ! Well I keep telling her that it’ll be a good story to tell in years to come :0) Till next time, peace out. Debs Oh yeah, RIP Steve Irwin, Crocs Rule!!!
