The Coup in Thailand

Hello again. I`m writing this just to let you readers know that today`s military coup in Thailand hasn`t put us in any danger. Although we`re safe, it has affected Laos in a few ways - the border to Thailand is closed leaving all bilateral commerce at a standstill and all the good TV shows are gone! Most of Laos cable TV comes from Thailand and they`ve shut down all their TV station! This means no more HBO Asia, Star Movies or Australian Network! Woe is us! There`s only the Lao channel or a bunch of chinese channels to choose from now! We hope this will all end soon so we can get back to watching `The Enterouge`!
My personal opinion is that it`s a good thing for Thailand to be getting rid of Thaksin. John Howard and other leaders are saying this coup is so terrible and Thailand`s supposed to be so democratic but the truth is that they weren`t democratic and never will be as long as they keep worshipping the king. It was the biggest farce of a democracy ever and still is because of their cult-worship of the king and the laws surrounding him - but that`s another story.
There`s no way the people could have gotten rid of Thaksin on their own so good on the army for doing something about it. They`re remaining loyal to the King so that keeps the people happy and hopefully soon they find a new and better prime minister who can steer the nation onto a better course.
