Auckland!

Heyo!!
I finally made it up to Auckalnd to see my long lost rellies, the Riddle clan! Meeting me just off the bus in the city I finally got to meet my second cousin Alais. She is so cute and although a little shy at first she was soon back to her normal self! After an eventful bus ride through the city (dont ask Liz about it!) back to MT Wellington, I got to meet the whole family again and get to know the cat that sheds its hair like theres no tomorrow!! Lol!! Dont wear black or dont touch the cat in the Riddle household!! It was great to see them all again!!
What followed was an eventful few days driving around the city seeing the sights, avoiding the rain and going on a magical mystery tour through the one way system! I think the first sights I got to see were 2 of the bigger volcanic cones in Auckalnd city, One tree hill (with no tree!) and Mt Eden, Both had great views to the city and the skytower which I was to see the next day. Going up the skytower was quite cool, although I didnt really now what it was that I was looking at at the time, Margaret did make sure I visited the best of them! After dillydallying about jumping off the skytower I figured my budget couldnt handle it! So we headed back down to grab some lunch, check out Aotea Sq market, Albert park and then off down (or maybe up...) the coast to Mission Bay for a walk along the beach. Luckily we managed to escape the rain this time, it only started on the way back home, the next time in the city we werent quite as lucky! That night after tea, Margaret took me out to see the city all lit up. It was really pretty, and I managed to take a decent picture with the night mode on my camera!
Colin had the next day off so we jumped in the car and set off down the windy roads to Piha - the beach of the black sands - and Lion Rock. We stopped along the way the Araki (?) visitors centre to get some pictures of the national park and me in a photo frame! (You`ll understand when I get some pictures on here!) Apparently Piha wasnt as black as they remembered but there was still proper black sand (no it wasnt just dirty!) and geez was that hot!!! You should have seen me and Margaret hopping along in our bare feet, lol!!!
We had a lazy sunday with a bit of a lie in before heading off to do some more sight seeing, this time it was Musick Point. Its quite pretty (despite the clouds) and we saw loads of cute bunny rabbits! What started as a lazy sunday finished as a wet one, with all the rain the garage flooded!! Me, Liz and Margaret were there mopping up while Paul ran outside in the rain to unoad bucket of water from where it was coming in! Thankfully it didnt get too far and nothing was spoilt except our lazy day.
Our trip to the hotpools was delayed several times due to thunder storms but thats life eh? On one of the days we headed into the city again to see Victoria Park Markets and the souvenier shops. This was the day we were caught in the rain big time!! It was kinda funny at the time though! We checked out the viaduct too but the rain had stopped by then, yay! When we did finally make it to the hot pools it was kind of cool!! All the pools are heated by natural springs at different temperatures by mixing it with cold water. They had them at temperature ranging from 31 to 48 degrees!! We went in the 40 deg pool at the start and end and chilled in the 36 deg pool most of the time.
Margaret, Liz, Alais and Paul came out to wave me off at the airport which was really sweet of them as I got the plane over to Fiji!
