California to Costa Rica

That was a sandy beach... Hola, Mi amigo y mi are having an excellent time. Last night we watched a local football match (Saprissa vs. LOA) at a bar while drinking Imperial, a local brew. Rad. Today we woke up early and headed to Manuel Antonio National Park, supposedly the most popular park in this country. I now understand why. We saw tons of animals, from raccoons to monkeys to little furry things which I do not know the name of to lizards to others. Ridiculous. Tons of hermit crabs too - everywhere. Not so bad at all. Favorite story of the day - the park entrance was a bit odd to get to, with a mini-climb and a hop across some rocks in a small stream required to get to the entrance where you pay. Well, it turns out that on the way out, the tide was high, so the stream was now.... a river? We had to take off our shoes and socks and ford the river Oregon Trail-style. We only lost one yolk of oxen to the mighty river - thank heavens. Buenos noches! The food is good too - ¨casados¨ for dinner. This is a plate of rice, beans, vegetables, sometimes plantains, and a meat. Today´s casado had mashed potatoes and a mini-salad. Not a bad gig for four bucks. Plus, the fruit juice here rocks my socks. Vibrant tastes and expansive variety.
