Ode to “Blue”

Ever since my bluey passed away I haven`t been able to think about him without bursting into tears. I was scared that it would hit me all over again when I went back to our property and not see him there. So I asked my mum to organise a little plaque and my Dad wrote this lovely poem. I want to put it up on the top rail of the fence that Bluey would kick out at when he was eating (a habit he picked up from being fed with lots of other horses when he was young) It was only after talking to Caroline (a friend we made in Fiji) about out love of horses and shared horsey stories that I could actually think about it. I got through writing this with no tears, just a lump in my throat....

Mickey’s equine friend

Two stubborn minds decide to agree

Two become one to fly over jumps and feel free

Two became one – a little girl and a big strong horse

They had fun, courage, and others more fancied

Will remember the force when they set a tight course

Fly through the clouds Blue as you remember the girl

You introduced to the show jumping world
