The adventures of Jonezy

Back in the UK Well, I arrived back at Heathrow yesterday after a very long trip with no sleep from Guangzhou. Total nightmare getting out of China, but once back in Hong Kong it was plain sailing! Gutted about the delays as it meant I missed a weekend in London including seeing Micky Slim and the Gumball Rally. China was awesome, especially the Yes Club itself. Really nice venue and would top almost all of the London clubs in regards to lights and sound system. To say it`s loud is an understatement, it kicks out massive amounts of `chest bass` but it`s crytsal clear so it doesn`t hurt your ears. Loads of little rooms coming off the main one, awesome entrance lobby complete with escalators and a huge chandalier, all plushly kitted out with marble everywhere. Then there`s the lasers.....I could go on, but I`ll leave it there... great club. Guangzhou is an intresting place, definitley not beautiful apart from the amazing parks, the city is just full of big tower blocks and roads. You get loads of dirty back streets with some really bizarre stuff down them, but it isn`t exactly picturesque. The Chinese are obsessed with karaoke, the KTV bars where they host it all are really nice, and really wierd. Then there`s the uniformed soldiers and guards everywhere just to remind you this is a communist country and the government are in control! Everybody drives like lunatics too. Hong Kong was totally different to Guangzhou. I could happily live there, it`s just phenomonal. Most people speak English so it`s easy to get around, and everything is ultra modern with some wicked shopping malls and bars. Meant to be some superb clubs too, but I didn`t have the time to visit any. All the worlds top DJs pass through. My favourite thing though is the fact that all their road signs and road markings are still British style, and they drive on the left. Very quirky. The buildings and bridges, especially Hong Kong island way are stunning. Well glad I made the trip, I`ve made some lifelong friends and seen some crazy stuff. Those who know me well will understand some parts of the trip were tough for me with events back home and I missed loads of people in the UK. But overall it was a superb experience.
