Fond Farewells and a new adventure!!!

So, since i last wrote I`ve been having lots of fun in Wellington, lots of what Matt refers to as `raucous and unhindered buffoonery!!`
All good things have to come to an end tho and I have now booked my tickets to Fiji and then back to England, so last weekend after a final hurricanes game and much partying and hugging I said goodbye to some really great friends and set off on another South Island adventure.
We set off from Welli at about 5am and still very nearly missed the ferry as apparently packing 4 girls, a suitcase, 3 large backpacks, 4 sleeping bags, 2 tents, 4 daypacks and various other random things into the worlds smallest 4x4 is not a task for the faint hearted!! We managed in the end however, and are now a few days into our road trip!!

My new travelling companions are a funny international bunch and great fun. Wen have Florencia, a crazy Argentinian girl who swears like a trooper `because she can`t express herself in English so well!!` We also have Maranda (aka Chops), who comes from a hill tribe between Thailand and Laos but has lived in ozzy for numerous years and is therefore obliged to be offensive towards kiwis (always fun). And we have Sonya, she`s Irish so as u can imagine, the drink budget has already gone right out of the window!!
So despite having left some really good friends and good times in Wellington, some good fun is in store me thinks!

The first 2 days of our new adventure were spent tramping (thats kiwi for hiking) around the abel tasman national park. I think this might actually have been one of the most beautiful places I`ve ever seen and despite 2 and a bit days of walking, covering a little over 40k and now being in serious need of new legs I think I can safely say that we all had a fantastic time!

We are now in Murchison, a small town populated almost entirely by kayakers...wohoo!! The Buller gorge flows through here and makes or some fantastic paddling, so I`m feeling rather at home here.

Gonna pack up in the morning and move a bit further south...where we`ll end up, who knows but I`ll tell u what happened in a few days.

Take care all, keep messaging. C ya later!!
