Leeds Met Indonesia
|
The Last Dance It was a night we didn`t really want to come but we had a traditional fruit party thown in our honor for our time spent volunteering at the foundation. We started off with exciting dance performances from the Kaliandra staff, local women and both Leeds met and the University of Indonesia (UI) students who spent some time providing medical clinics for local villiages working with natural medicines grown at Kaliandra. We did `Strip the Willow` and `The Gay Gordans` (traditional scottish country dancing) which we got everyone joining in. It was a very memorable evening with the exchance of gifts and the UI students even presented us with a plaque to commemorate the university`s partnership which grew at Kaliandra. The girls (and boys) were presented with traditional sarong...i think the boys liked theirs more than the girls and i`m sure they will make an appearance at our reunion! Salemat Sori, Su!
