Where in the World...?
 Australia 07 Ok - the title may be a little misleading... actually the first port of call was Escondido, in the US of A, to see Daddy Dick. Highlights * Seeing the light come into Dad`s eyes when presented with a bottle of Whisky from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society * Dinner with Lisa W (who has moved into the suburb next to my dad - how small is this world??!!), KL (who, once again, surpassed herself in the chef department - having an ex-restaurant owner as a step-mum is something I can recommend) and Dad * Family time in Canberra - degustation (after peer pressure, even Mum got involved), finally having outdoor furniture and being able to use it ON GRASS (for those not in the know, our `home improvements` have been going for 20 years - I kid not). * Having Kaylah call me `Aunty Ali` (Kirst and Ritchy - your kids are fantastic) * Holding my cousin`s baby - Lily - for the first time... and her not crying. `Look what we made` indeed Nick! * Spending an entire day having cups of tea and chatting with Jenny. Lowlights * Dad dumping me on the train to LA airport where I was promptly accosted by a guy whose brain had been turned to mush by too much time in the sun, who, 5 minutes into the conversation said `So, you ever been part of the mile-high club? I`ve not, but I have had sex in a train toilet...` I kid not... but then again, he did give me beer (and I did think, hey, this is how one ends up coming to and finding their organs missing) * Falling asleep on the plane, waking up on take up, announcing `oh, we here, excellent` and then trying to regain some of my diginty from the people around me.
