It’s scientific fact that the proportion of the world’s surface not yet explored by City lawyers is less than 2%.

The latest expedition is that of Trowers & Hamlins trainee Laura Bowlt, who will be trekking across the Arctic Circle by huskie sled in temperatures as low as minus 35 degrees Celsius (that’s about as warm as the reception you get when you tell your City firm all that training they’ve paid for might count for nothing if you do a Captain Scott on your travels).

Bowlt and her beau will be looking to raise cash for the waifs and strays at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home — donations can be sent to www.justgiving.com/lauraandchrisforbattersea.

Her exploits come after infamous ex-lawyer ironman Lewis Pugh last month swam the icy Arctic depths to highlight the plight of polar bears continually being bothered by holidaying partners.

And finally, a nod to the gallant Pitmans team (pictured below) that entered the Three Peaks mountain-climbing challenge earlier this summer. Tragically, they have not been heard from since.
