Wandering about
20th Nov 2007 - 6th Dec 2007
Finished trekking!

Hello!

Just Finished Trekking round Annapurna region, reaching a staggering altitude of 5416m over Throung La pass and having just avoided Altitude sickness we travelled 18 solid days through the mountain region with fantastic scenery (to come) and lead by our Guide Lal and Porter carrying our bags (Obed).

One thing is the people we met along the way,  our little group soon became 6 people with addition of Kate our now Austrailan friend. As you trek teh same route as othe rpeople you start to see eth same people doing teh same lodges n tea stops as yourself so you get to know them. Kate we met right at the beginning. Herself and her guide Machindra (spelling?) were heading eth same way so we ended up a nice little group walking. Along eth way we also met Erin (another Aussie) and a few other familiar faces. At the end though we all had to part ways, was kinda sad being together for so long, almost like a little family. Well atleast we have email addresses and photo`s.

Must say it has been a wonderful 18 days passing Mules trains and staying in tea houses over night, walking sometimes 6-8 hours a day. The complete circuit is 300KM in total. I shall update this blog with photo`s as time allows.

We fly back to Kathmandu on the 8th n then to Thailand 10th. Can`t wit to hit a new country.

Nepals Moutain regions are so beautiful, am actually sad to be returning to Kathmandu, back to the choking fumes,  rotting garbage, and car n bike horns. But we are returning to wit for our flights.

RIght thats it for now. Take care all.

Garry
