Wandering about
4th Jan 2008
Back in HK now

How was everyones Christmas n new year, did many get drunk? Myself I spent quiet time with family in Roi Et, which is North East Thailand. Ada returned to Hong Kong to her family at this time so I was free of her so to speak.. Ding dong the witch is gone.... heh

I got a chance to play with Bamboo, n eat some insects which is one of the reasons I went there anyway. Tasted, well of nothing much in particular really see photo`s later.

Right Thailand is famous for its "Lady boys" or Ktoys as they are called here, I met quite a few of them, and have to say the stero typing of them is complete untrue. They are lovely as a people, for Thailand they are normal, part of growing up so they are excepted. Ktoys are the most loyal of all the Thai people and will out right tell you they are one as they are proud to be what they are. Some are more obvious than others, indeed I saw many that were far prettier than normal Thai girls. My own father has some ktoys working for him and they are lovely, esp Jojo who looks after the kids. (see photo). This was all part of the Thailand culture, one which I was pleased to experience.

After Roi Et I headed back down to Pattaya to do more diving for the last few days, managed to bag me Advanced Open water certification now. Was a great course, did a wreck dive on the HTMS Kut, which was an old War landing craft sank as part of a artificial reef project. Also did deep dive down to 29.97 meters (30m) as well as fish ID. Saw a turtle, some conga Eels, trigger fish n lots of small fish I can`t remember the names of. Met n dived with loads of wonderful people. If you get chance I`d recommend scuba diving to anyone. Hopefully I can continue my diving back home in the UK, though I`d need to do another course for dry suits. The water was a lovely 27 degrees there all year round!

AM back in Hong Kong now, landed last night, Ada is currently in Taiwan with her parents.

Gonna relax more now n think about heading back home to work n family. Not to mention my little turd of a cat, bless her.

Right things to see people to do!

see you all soon

Garry
